Sunbeam Blue Liquid Neon Light Review

The Sunbeam Liquid Neon light is a very good liquid neon light.

In the Box:

The box is long and tubular. It contains the light, an inverter, a pci bracket and velcro tape. The tape is used to attach the light and the inverter to something in your case.

One problem is that the package description makes it sound like it can switch modes. It doesn't have this feature. It is one set display for their entire line of products. That is a minor issue, the description just needs a little rewording.

The Light:

The light looks great. It really brightens up the inside of the case. While you can't see it in the pictures, the light oscillates throughout the tube. It is bright enough to brighten up the bottom half of my X-Blade case.

The Inverter:

The inverter is small and white. It doesn't get that hot. The cable is long enough that it can sit virtually anywhere in the case. I stuck under my hard drives, which probably wasn't my best idea since heat rises, but hey, my case. :)

The Bracket:

The bracket is a simple slider switch that controls whether the light is on or off. It felt rather sturdy, though I would prefer an upfront panel for it instead of a back panel switch. For those of you who have your computer underneath your desk, it can be a real pain to get to.

Conclusion:

The light works great, and does what it is supposed to do. It didn't raise the case temp of my computer at all. I will warn you though, it really only works when it is on its own power supply lead. Putting it on a lead that has other stuff plugged in doesn't work well. It draws a ton a power. I am not sure whether I just have a bad inverter or what, so I am just cautioning you.
